No Help Needed

Rowynn figured out how to make the frog on his bouncy seat sing! I had my back turned to him messing with some plants, when all of a sudden I heard his bouncy seat singing.

It was a pretty exciting and proud moment. We used to love to watch Abigayl pull on the flower of her bouncy seat. I love watching him hit some of the same milestones she did and I am excited to get to see new ones.

I can't believe that he is 16 weeks! It is amazing to think that time can go by so fast but we are anticipating all the fun and new things we are going to get to experience with him. Every day we are so thankful for the time we get to spend with him. We know how fragile life is and that at any moment it can be gone.

Lake Time + New Outfit = Pictures

It is tradition for the family to head to the lake for the three summer holiday weekends. We decided that taking our little guy to the lake and having to head to the room every couple of hours for naps and feedings just wasn't for us.

Instead we made it an afternoon trip and stayed for a few hours. It was long enough for Rowynn to see all of his family, get held and cooed at and dip his tootsies in the water and go over the Missouri border while napping in the car.

It was also enough time for Rusty and I to eat at Dairy Queen, twice. Yes, we had ice cream each time! What can I say, we love our ice cream and we don't get to have Dairy Queen very often. I must add that the Buster Bar Blizzard is YUMMY! I wish I could have one right now. I wonder if I could get one shipped?! Could someone take care of that for me? Heading out with daddy..... Rusty said he kicked his legs when the water would touch his feet.Aniston even shared her floaty with Rowynn. So, he was wet up to his bum. I'm so glad that my cousin's sent us this swim outfit... it was cute and kept him from getting too much sun.
When we got to the lake, grandma Patty had some new duds for Rowynn! So, today Rowynn got to sport his new outfit at breakfast. You can tell that he is thrilled! He is just so stinkin' cute...Did you see the cowboy boot socks? There is even a little horseshoe on the bum!

2 Years...

We celebrated our beautiful daughter's second birthday with a cookout and balloon release. This year we decided to do 4 dozen balloons representing the four months she was with us.

I feel that I was in a much better place this year. Having Rowynn in my arms really helped ease the pain and made things a bit easier.
All the pretty balloons
Daddy did some good work out in the HOT garage This year we decided to get Abigayl a cake. The people at Ludger's did a great job, as usual.Rowynn is getting ready to release his balloon After the balloon release we headed to Abigayl's spot to take her a flower cake and some balloons.
It turned out to be a beautiful day filled with lots of love and celebration for the short life of our little angel.

Busy, Busy, Busy

This weekend was chock-full of excitement! Saturday consisted of two birthday parties and a graduation party. Thankfully Rowynn is such a good baby that he didn't complain about lack of sleep!
It is incredible how much God allows your heart to heal. One of the birthday parties I attended was for our friend's son who is a week older than Abigayl. Last year I was at his first birthday and it was VERY hard for me. I watched him wishing I could watch Abigayl blow out her candles and open presents.
This year, I was able to watch and enjoy him and his reactions. I didn't dwell or hurt for it to be her. I don't know if time has helped with that or if it is having Rowynn in my arms. Probably a little of both. Rowynn has helped heal a part of my heart that I didn't think could be healed. He brings me so much joy and comfort.
I think his daddy loves him a whole bunch too!
After the birthday party, we headed to our niece's graduation party. It is crazy that she is graduating! When I met Rusty she was in junior high and now she is all grown up. I don't know where the time goes.
We then headed back home so I could help celebrate my friend Jill's birthday. Her husband rented a limo for her and I was lucky enough to be invited to join in the fun!
First was dinner, which was super yummy, and then we headed to the center of the universe.

Here is Jill and her husband Tom at the center of the universe Katie and I Jill, Katie and Allison The center of the universe is a spot where if you stand in the center and talk you can hear echos all around. If you move from the spot, the echo goes away. It was pretty neat. I love discovering new things about the city I live in!

Before heading home, we went to Riverwalk to listen to some music and play some games. It was an amazing night with friends. Rowynn likes to try to hold his own bottle. We love watching him develop and learn. It is so much fun!!
