A Step in the Right Direction...

Rowynn has been taking ONE step here and there for the past couple of weeks but last night he took FOUR steps!!!

I guess going to daddy was a big enough incentive to finally get him to go a little.

Believe me, I will TRY to get a video and get it posted. Rowynn tends to ignore all other activities the minute a camera or phone come out. He's a stinker!

Rowynn Randomness

Yes, my son is over a year old now and still has a bottle. Oh well, he likes it and I'm going to let him be my baby as long as he wants. Poor guy is about to have his whole world change in a few months.
He sure is cute holding that Mickey and having a bottle though!
Playing with the new house grandma Diana got him! The workings of my day with this child... open...
close! I'm glad he has a door to do it with now, maybe he will leave my kitchen drawers alone! Yeah right.
We brought out Abigayl's quilt so he could get a good look...
 so cute!
He was looking at Abigayl's picture on her quilt and touching it. I hope he will feel a connection to his big sister.
Playing on his quilt! Thank you to my second mom, Joyce. Such special blankets I will cherish forever.
Lots of great smile and teeth shots....

Then we wore himself out!

We are so excited that Rowynn is going to have a little brother. Now for the hard part, aside from the whole giving birth part, we have to pick a name!

Looks like my c-section date will be around/on June 28, 2011!

Boy or Girl?

I thought I would do my very first giveaway today. At 2:45, I am having an ultrasound that SHOULD let us know what we are having!!

So, my question to you is, what do you think we are going to have?

One entry per person.
I will put all the names in a hat of those that get it right and draw for a $10 Starbucks card.

I will give you until 4pm today (*Edit* 4pm central time).

If you do not have a Google ID then make sure you leave your name. Also, leave contact info so I can get in touch with the winner. No worries, I will not publish the comments (unless you want me to or if there is no contact info attached) so the whole web won't have your email!

Good luck!

Party Time

It was finally "nice" (snow on the ground but 50 degrees) enough to have Rowynn's birthday party. Thanks to some awesome effort by my friend Katie, I had some cute little handmade accessories. (she made the sign)
She also made the gift bags for the kids to put their pinata candy into.
I wish I would have taken the picture before all the kids left. It was super cute to see all the personalized bags.
The whole table was covered with bags... I really liked it!
 Present time!!
Ignore me, just pay attention to the cute one on my lap!
I LOVE the shirt that I found on etsy. The girl who made it did it even though it was short notice and she did an AMAZING job.

Thanks to Ludger's for the beautiful smash cake! They did such an amazing job with both cakes. Ludger's is our number one place to go for cakes. Their cheesecake is to die for and they always do such a wonderful job with decorating the cakes.
Not only is the cake beautiful and delicious, it also fat free. Just kidding on the last part! But, Rusty said that he received the best customer service that he's ever had. The didn't have the smash cake ready when he got there, so they gave him a slice of chocolate cheesecake and original while he waited. He said that they made him feel like he was the only customer even though the phones were ringing off the hook and there were girls in there trying to order a wedding cake. So, thank you Ludger's for everything!
I tried to get a shot with his Mickey ears, not happening!

 Cake time!

Just love this shot! It was after everyone had left and he was trying to get outside. Getting Rowynn's diaper is getting to be near impossible, he just wiggles and moves all over.
 Decor...
Rowynn's birthday turned out to be so special. I'm so glad we were finally able to throw him a party. He is one loved little guy!

On a side note, today Rowynn rode facing forward in the car for the first time AND he took one step this morning! I hope that means we have walking in our future!

Another Eight Inches

Yup, here in the greater Tulsa area we received another eight inches of snow. Pile that on top of the twenty-one inches we had already on the ground and I think it will take some time for our HUGE snow banks to melt off!
Poor Rusty had just shoveled the back porch when this storm blew in.
As much as the snow has been a hassle, it sure is beautiful! I think this may be our last snow of the winter so we took Rowynn out (for 2 minutes!) to enjoy its beauty before it melts off in the seventy degree weather we are supposed to have Wednesday and Thursday!

I must say, I'm thankful for a warm-up. After this storm came some horrific arctic air that left us with air temperatures in the negatives. We were -9 but just a few miles north of us it was -25! Crazy. We were colder than the north pole that day.

Those of you enjoying your warm air, please keep enjoying it. I'm sitting in Oklahoman trying not to freeze my tail end off!

Rowynn's Big Day

Rowynn's big day started on Friday evening when we gave him his train table.

There are five components that make noise and I think those are all of his favorites! He was reaching for the passenger platform so we would turn it on.

Then on Saturday morning he was surprised with balloons, a pillow pet, a "tool" set and...
a cube with a bunch of different activities.

He let his mouth do some exploring...
because it is important to make sure it tastes good....
 everywhere!!!
After a short nap, it was time for CAKE!!! I don't think you need much commentary since his face kind of says it all.

(daddy had to get him started!)

(Finally, a baby bump shot. Sorry I've been slacking on that this pregnancy. I'm currently 18 weeks)

Saturday evening our good friends came over to bring Rowynn his present. It's a mickey mouse ball pit/tent!! I love it and so does Rowynn!
I think Rowynn was so excited to see his two best friends, it had been almost a week and I think he missed them! His face lit up when they got here.

All-in-all, it was a perfect day. It would have been great to have his party but it was wonderful and fun this way too. I've waited a long time to have a first birthday for one of my babies and to me, this was perfect!

Rowynn is such a special blessing and I am grateful everyday that God put him in our lives. He has helped heal such a large part of my heart and has given me so much to look forward to. It is amazing how his presence everyday helps me get through things that are so incredibly easy for others to do without thought.

I love you, Rowynn Russell Stamper, happy birthday!
