Last Minute...

Friday night Rusty and I decided to take an adventure Saturday. Our original plan that night was to head to Arbuckle Wilderness, where the animals can walk up to your car and you can hand feed buffalo, giraffes and other animals.

Since our "early" start ended up being at 10, we decided to head to Norman and go to the Oklahoma Museum of Natural History.
Rowynn's ready to go...
He was happy that he didn't have to "fly" the whole way ;-)
So we loaded up our handsome boy and headed toward OKC. Rusty had heard about a place called Pop's on historic Route 66 and we decided to make a detour from the highway to check it out.
Inside of Pop's you can get ANY kind of soda your taste buds desire. It was pretty neat to see all the different kinds. We both ended up choosing cream soda but from different places.
While Rusty fed Rowynn in the car, I decided to go back in to get a better variety to bring home. I ended up with blood orange soda, orange cream soda, huckleberry soda, root beer, wild cherry soda and wild strawberry.
The really cool part is that all of the sodas that we chose were all from different states! Rowynn decided he would try to take a taste of my cream soda. Poor guy only got a mouth full of bottle!
After our stop at Pop's, we went to Saltgrass Steakhouse in Norman. Saltgrass is one of our FAVORITE steakhouses and we used to only be able to eat there when we were in Texas. Finally, after many comment cards, they built one in Oklahoma. Sadly, we have to drive 2.5 hours to get there.
We then headed to the museum to walk around in an air conditioned building. The museum had some interesting facts. I liked that their feature exhibit was ALL about chocolate!!
After our tour of the museum, Rusty showed me around the University of Oklahoma campus. What I really liked looking at were the sorority and frat houses. Some of those houses were BEAUTIFUL, large houses. I learned that I may encourage my kids to join when they go to college. It was a perfect day with my two boys and I can't wait to go on our next adventure!
