Rain, Relaxation and a Reunion

This weekend was much of the same. Saturday we went to brunch and wanted to do some shopping, but the remnants of Ike were blowing through, so that was out of the question. Far to wet to venture out. Rusty took care of Abigayl all day Saturday while I hung out in the bedroom and watched some TV and did some reading.

Sunday, we went to church, had breakfast, and went to Muskogee for Rusty's Grandma's family reunion. We got to show off Abigayl, see his mom and grandma and pet LOTS of animals. I LOVE animals. So, this was a dream day for me!! I got to pet horses, a calf, goats, a beagle, a baby squirrel and LOTS of cats. It was great!! Abigayl slept through the whole thing. She woke up right when we were about to leave so we went a head and fed her. She is such a great girl.

The shoes!

These are the shoes that we got so many compliments on at the home show. They are the sweetest things. I have been waiting for them to fit her!! Abigayl's aunt Tiffaney got them for her at the Disney store back around March/April. They even have a matching dress!! But, she is getting too big for the dress.... bummer.

Abigayl's 3 month photo session pictures are done. If you would like to view them go to: www.mkstudio.smugmug.com the password is oscar.

Taggie blanket

Abigayl's Auntie's Laura and Megan got her this blanket before she was born. She now likes to explore things with her hands and put things in her mouth... so we thought it was perfect to bring out her blankie.

She loved it... she kept staring at it, feeling it and chewing on it.
She decided she wanted the blankie more than her bottle.
I finally got her to not stare at the blankie and look up at me!
This is Abigayl's big girl outfit... she had on purple cords and silver shoes... I need to get a picture of the shoes.
Cute taggie hat!
She didn't mind!

Our weekend

This weekend was pretty low key. Saturday was a University of Oklahoma football game, so that means watching the game (they won, thank goodness, that means a happy husband). Then Sunday, we had brunch with our friends and headed over to the Tulsa Home Beautiful show. We are in dire need of new siding so it was a great way to find out options and see the product first hand.

Abigayl was the belle of the show! Everyone oohed and aahed over her... which makes us both gleam with pride!! The biggest hit were her adorable shoes. Think, ruby slippers only silver with a purple bow. I will have to take a picture.

Abigayl after a bath... she is just so precious and chunky!
See all of her chub rolls!! I just love them all.
I think she enjoyed getting to be naked baby!
Of course she had to support OU in her cheer outfit... maybe one day she will wear a real one!
I don't think that she was too impressed...
Because she can't stand tummy time, only tolerates her walker for short spurts and our arms can handle only so much holding we tried out her Bumbo seat on the couch... I don't think it was very comfy. As great as her head control is, I don't think it is quit ready for full on sitting up yet.
Cuddling.... I love every minute of it!

I can't watch tv anymore!

I just have to express my absolute disgust in the news media. When did it become acceptable to deliver personal opinions rather than the true facts?! I was watching the Republican Convention last night and I was bombarded by personal opinions from democratic idiots. I wish there was a way to change things back to the way they were many years ago. Stop trying to sway people with personal opinions, we are smart, we can make up our minds based off of sheer fact.

And another thing, why do celebrities think we care who they support? Most of these people are glorified drop outs. That doesn't give them any political gusto. Most didn't attend college. Let alone major in something relevant to politics... they majored in art!! Woo hoo... that gives a leg to stand on in the political arena. I just wish they would keep their opinions to themselves and stop trying to influence the young voters.

I will now step off of my soap box because I feel much better!

Bath Time

Thanks to Myra, I now have a new way to bathe the girl. She took her first bath in the big bath. She splashed around and absolutely loved it!!

Labor Day Weekend

This weekend was tons of fun. Abigayl was actually able to go down to the water a little more and I wasn't so room-bound. Rusty, Abigayl and I took walks every day. There was tons of family so Abigayl was always in someones arms!! I think she really enjoyed all of the attention. I think a couple of times she actually looked around the room to make sure everyone had their eyes on her!

On Saturday night, Ronnie boiled some shrimp. I'll tell you what.... the Cajun's know how to boil some shrimp!! It was delicious! I was in hog heaven! I wish I would have gotten some pictures with every one's hands and fingers all messy with their piles of shells in front of them..... mmmm.

Last time I was at the lake I got hurt on the hot dog. This time at the lake I dove off the dock (like I have done all summer) Only this time.... my legs and feet scraped the rocks that were just 4-5 feet below the surface. Not fun. I should have taken pictures of my war wounds!

We had the usual activities of water skiing, tubing, hot dogging, jet skiing. Here are my pretty nieces getting ready to ride the blow up jet ski.
They only fell off a couple of times. Looked like fun!
After a long day of playing in the water... time to head up for food.
Abigayl's first time on the boat. It was 7 am and the water was so calm.
Abigayl playing with the wheel while daddy got his fishing pole out!
Rusty can drive and fish.... very talented! But, no luck with the fish that morning.
Such a sweet angel... she was great all weekend.
Ronnie helping me with the big girl! I don't thin she really like the life jacket at first. But then the rocking of the boat put her straight to sleep!
Abigayl with her beautiful cousins.... now there is a blond, brunette and a red head!
