Branson Getaway

Rusty and I finally did it, with the help of his mom, we spent a whole weekend away from the kids. Yes we missed them, but it was so nice to just be the two of us for a couple of days. Focus on each other and not the whining, crying, dirty diapers and multiple feeding required by our two lovely kids.

We were lucky enough to score rooms at Big Cedar Lodge and that is always a treat. Our first day we grabbed ice cream from my favorite place, Cold Stone Creamery (since both of the shops in Tulsa closed it's a must!), went to the local winery and bought a couple of bottles of wine and then relaxed in our room before we had dinner and took in the singing cowboy at the Buzzard Bar at Big Cedar. It was magnificent!!

Our second day was full of fun at Silver Dollar City since I was finally able to ride the roller coasters. I've been pregnant more than not pregnant over the last four years so it was one of the few times I actually was able to partake in the roller coaster fun. That night we boarded this beauty:

The Showboat Branson Belle

It is a wonderful paddle boat that on Table Rock lake

Sort of reminds me of scenes from Titanic

The great part about the Branson Belle is that along with a boat ride, you get dinner and a show. I must say, the food was only okay but the entertainment was great. It was worth it!

Our last day we had brunch at Big Cedar and then headed into Branson. We spent some time at an arcade before we headed home to our boys.

It was relaxing, it was wonderful and I can't wait to do it again in June when we go to Nashville for our anniversary!
